Mindful Attachment-based Parenting (MAP) Program

Leaving a lasting imprint of love

A child’s sense of security plays a profound and essential role in their physical, emotional, and psychological development. According to attachment theory, this sense of security is not innate, but gradually built through a stable and consistent relationship between the child and their caregiver. When children feel understood, accepted, and supported, they are empowered to explore the world, regulate their emotions, and engage with others with greater confidence and ease.

The Mindful Attachment-based Parenting (MAP) Program integrates attachment theory, developmental psychology, and mindfulness to support parents in understanding their children’s emotional needs, decoding the messages behind their behaviors, learning how to care for both themselves and their children, and building a secure parent-child relationship.

In the journey of parenting, developmental psychology serves as a “map”, helping parents understand the evolving needs of their children at different stages and know how to accompany them through developmental challenges. Parenting skills act as a “compass”, offering practical direction for parents to navigate conflicts and difficulties with greater ease. Mindfulness functions as an inner “navigation system”, allowing parents to respond to their children with awareness and wisdom, making the parenting journey more grounded, empowered, and connected.

This course emphasizes experiential learning, guiding participants through a series of structured themes and practices that invite reflection and growth. Along the way, parents will cultivate seven essential parenting powers: Presence, Awareness, Understanding, Calmness, Listening, Speaking, and Reconciliation.

“I find out that parenting is not just about behavioural management. Building a solid parent-child relationship is the foundation of parenting. I need to take good care of myself before I can take good care of my daughter. I have learnt how to be aware of my emotions and understand the emotional needs behind the behaviours of my daughter. It helps reduce a lot of struggles.”

- Fion

“Parenting is not about power struggle; it is about letting our kids bloom like a flower in their own way and at their own pace. We breathe in and out to feel each other’s presence and to connect. This is mindful parenting. Simple yet powerful.”

Cermain

“This program helps me understand myself and have more calmness when facing problems. I have learnt a lot about parent-child relationship and I can understand the needs and thoughts of my sons more. This program help me raise my children mindfully.”

- Tony

“Every session is fruitful and awakening to me. I am very happy that my family members see my changes. Before the program, my children said mom is a tyrannosaurus (meat-eating, brutal). After the program, my children said mom becomes a gentle brontosaurus (vegetarian, slow). Now, the children have more laughter and my family becomes more harmonious and united."

- Paully
